Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth is the
most comprehensive and most innovative architecture education
programme for children in Europe. Originating in Finland,
Arkki has come to Greece and continues its collaboration with
the ISA providing new workshops, for children aged 4-13.
Arkki workshops follow a hands-on, immersive approach to
architectural design and construction: Children play with tools
and materials, they see things from new and unexpected
angles, they learn to plan and experiment and they discover
their own vocations and their own talents. All workshops
enhance three-dimensional perception, fine motor skills and
communication.
Architecture is used to provide an edge for a truly interdisciplinary,
stimulating learning environment. Children structure their
own thinking, they boost their imagination and creativity and
believe in their own selves; that way, they become the “architects”
of their own future!
