Our school’s MUN club has so far attended numerous MUN conferences in Athens, ACMUN in Thessaloniki, even ZilinaMUN in Slovakia. We have participated in all MUN committees, the newbies preferring ECOSOC, the Human Rights Council and UNESCO and the more experienced delegates diving into all the General Assembly committees and even the International Court of Justice as judges. A number of our students have won Best Delegate Awards!
This year, we took part in the CGS MUN in December and recently in the Anatolia College MUN. We have been attending this conference for three years. Students researched and prepared resolutions on behalf of Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and Ghana and discussed topics such as Freedom of Speech in the digital age, the Statehood of Abyei in Sudan, Income inequality and Biological weapons. An added bonus to attending this conference in the beautiful town of Thessaloniki is our scenic travel by train and we are already looking forward to our next MUN expedition!
