On January 22, 2014 , at ISA, during the Lecture series for Parents we presented a lecture on “The reality of LEARNING DIFFERENT CHILDREN: How to promote their social, psychological & academic development through Psychological Counseling & Academic Support”. The presenters were Dr. Gina Thanopoulou, Counseling Psychologist & Director of ISA Counseling Center & Ms. Maria Protopapa, Counseling Psychologist.
It was presented to ISA parents of all levels of the school, Melina’s, Primary, middle & high, how these LD children are Special, Different learners that have some differences ( difficulties) in the learning process but at the same time they have great abilities & gifts in learning & personal & interpersonal development. We presented how qualifies & caring special educators & counseling psychologists can believe in them & support them & how parents can stay “next to them” & can support & inspire them.
It was a great lecture that was received with great enthusiasm by parents.
Our next lecture at our school main auditorium will take place on February, 19th at 5.30 pm, & the topic will be “How to promote effective family communication & connection”, presented by Ms. Maria Protopapa, Counseling Psychologist
