On Friday May 30th, the first interdisciplinary project in the framework of MYP was completed and successfully presented. This has been the work of students that take Greek for Foreigners at all levels, involving also actively the Art Department. The theme of the project was “A walking tour of Athens” and the main concept was to present the main points of interest, symbols and cultural sites that visitors would encounter during their walk in downtown Athens. Students worked hard during months, individually and in groups and finally presented their panel and their personal work during an event that involved all MYP students and teachers of our school. During the event, all students had the chance to assess the project by MYP criteria set by the teachers involved in the project and presented and explained by Ms Milioni, our MYP coordinator.
The classes involved were Greek for Foreigners Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced and the teachers involved were Mr Oikonomopoulos,, Ms Tsoka, Ms Del Hoyo, Ms Dionysopoulou and Ms Voulgaris.
According to the students that participated, this was a unique experience that helped them cultivate their team spirit and get to know better the city they live in and the way interdisciplinary MYP projects work.
