world Poetry Day

To celebrate World Poetry Day (March 21st) the English Department organised creative sessions in which Grade 7 English Language and Literature students experimented with the forms of poetry they have been studying in their units by writing concrete, haiku, diamond and limerick poems. At the same time, Grade 9 English Language and Literature students wrote Maya Angelou's "Phenomenal Woman" in the context of the unit "The Role of Women in Society" and recreated their own version of the poem reflecting on what makes them phenomenal, gender roles and personal identity.
