Introduction to Unit 5 (Animals)

The students discussed the picture found on pg. 57 of their Pupils book. 

They answered the questiions:

1. Which is a pet?

2. Which is a wild animal?

Pet = Animals that live in our houses and we take care of them

Wild animals = Live in their natural habitat (jungle, ocean, desert, arctic ect.....)

They made a table about which animals live in the wild and which ones stay at home

They watched a video about pet and wild animals 

Activity:

Pet or wild sorting out activity (have your students sort out , in groups of 4, which toy animals are pets and which live in the wild. Place the wild ones in the box and the others leave them outside. Give them 5 minutes to complete the activity.

The students were introduced to Unit 2 (Toys)

Vocabulary:

The students practiced saying new vocabulary words that dealt with toys 

ex: scooter, robot, train, car, ball, doll, teady bear, toy bricks, truck, and airplane

They wrote the words on the board for practice

The students were also taught the difference between soft and hard toys.

They played a game where they had to place each toy in the correct column (soft/hard)

Grammar:

plural -s/possessive

ex: 1 ball          1 doll

      2 ball        2 dolls

Explain to your students why we add the S at the end of the word

Place 2 objects on each students desk and have them say if its singular or plural

Explain to your students how and when to use it

Activity: Stand far and near from school items. Ask your students to say the right demonstartive pronoun.

 

Celebrating Halloween:

Activity: They drew something that had to do with halloween. Options were given.

ex: haunted house, spider, pumpkin, ghost, and witch. 

They played matching pumpkin game, where they hat to find match the same images.

They watched a scooby doo video based on halloween.

Welcome to Junior A class !

Work Covered in class on Saturday 17th

Alphabet book:  Letters Aa - Dd and Ee - Hh

Exercise: Dictation and Reepetition

Activity: Association with words and letters (for each letter find the appropriatte word)

                  ex: Aa = apple, Bb = bat, Cc = car, Dd = dog, Ee = elephant, Ff = flamingo, Gg = girl, and Hh = home

 

Homework for the 24th of September:

In School Notebook:

Copy the Letters Aa through Hh  with the appropriate word as seen below X2

For example:

Aa = apple

Bb = bat

Cc = car

Dd = dog

Ee = elephant

Ff = flamingo

Gg = girl

Hh = home
